GTD Requiem Construction of GTD Orion 12B-02 began in on 7th February 2331 at the New Providence shipyards, orbiting Talania 4. Construction was delayed six months later when the Vasudans launched a surprise attack on GTA forces. Vasudan ground forces captured the colony on Talania 4, and the New Providence shipyards came under heavy attack on several occasions. During one such engagement the partially constructed Orion came under fire, suffering extensive damaged to its command boom. When the colony on Talania 4 was recaptured in November of 2331 and the situation in Talania normalised, construction was restarted on the now named GTD Requiem. It was, however, deemed too expensive to completely rebuild the command boom. Computer estimates concluded that the hull strength of the Requiem would only be 92% that of other Orions. The Requiem was launched in January 2333 under the command of Admiral Noah Berdas and served with great distinction in Sirius before it and a large proportion of the 5th Fleet was reassigned back to the Talania system.
